Smead Value Fund shareholders are stock market investors. The Fund’s shareholders are individual investors, advisors, family offices and institutional investors in the U.S. The manager, Smead Capital Management, advises clients that fear stock market failure through a low turnover, differentiated, value discipline seeking wonderful companies to build wealth.
The Fund is managed by Lead Portfolio Manager Bill Smead and Co-Portfolio Managers Tony Scherrer, CFA and Cole Smead, CFA. The portfolio managers execute this philosophy through the long-term ownership of common stocks based on the firm’s eight investment criteria.
The Fund currently offers an Investor Share Class (SMVLX), A Share Class (SVFAX), I1 Share Class (SVFFX), R1 Share Class (SVFDX), R2 Share Class (SVFKX), Y Share Class (SVFYX) and C Share Class (SVFCX).
The Fund’s investment objective is long-term capital appreciation.
Principal Investment Strategies
The Fund will seek long-term capital appreciation through concentrated positions, therefore the Fund will maintain approximately 25-30 companies in its portfolio. The Fund will invest in U.S. large capitalization (“large cap”) companies through the ownership of common stock.

- Generates high levels of free cash flow
- Available at a low price in relation to intrinsic value

- Strong insider ownership (Preferably with recent purchases)
